Hall and Room Hire

In the light of recommendations and rulings from the UK government and the Baptist Union of Great Britain, we are now able to hire out our facilities to a wider audience.

We are delighted to announce that ‘Physical’ meetings are allowed for many more groups now.  If you would like to hire one of our rooms please contact lettings@horleybaptist.org.uk

If you are unsure whether your activity is a ‘permitted’ activity under the latest guidance, please do get in touch and we will confirm if you can use our facilities.

Horley Baptist Church have Covid Safe Working Practices making our facilities safer for you and us.

.Welcome to Horley Baptist Church room and hall hire. Our new Church building opened in July 2015. This exciting, multi-use venue is the fulfilment of our vision to serve the needs both of our church and of the people of Horley.

In addition to our own activities, we want to see the premises used in a way that will enhance the quality of life of local people by providing educational, recreational, health and well-being and leisure opportunities. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer our bright, clean and flexible rooms for the use of local community groups, board meetings, seminars, workshops, training conferences, rehearsals and sports activities .... and much more.

Horley Baptist Church is conveniently located just off the main A23 running through Horley and only a 20 minute walk from the train station, 10 minutes walk from the high street - and there is a bus stop right outside. There are pay and display car parks at Victoria Road and Horley Central – both 10/15  minutes walk away. Parking charges run from 8am – 6pm.

30 parking spaces are available on site with marked bays for disabled users. Please note parking is not guaranteed and priority is given to disabled and elderly users of the building as well as to parents with very young children.

As with all similar facilities we are required by planning regulations to encourage the use of public transport and car sharing.

Parking may sometimes also be further restricted due to church activities or other concurrent uses.

Our rooms.

With a range of rooms available, all equipped with the very latest audiovisual equipment and large screens available, the range of facilities is comprehensive. Guest WiFi, tea/coffee making points and cloakroom facilities are available throughout the building. Several of our rooms are partitioned with "Moving Walls", so that they can be divided or opened out to suit the needs of the user. The Church also has dedicated children’s room with protected access and children’s toilets. Just as importantly, every group will receive a warm welcome from our staff and volunteers - hospitality is a central part of our church's mission within the community.

The building has been designed to provide level access for those with limited mobility. Facilities include a lift to the first floor rooms, disabled toilets and designated parking bays. An induction loop system is installed in the Main Hall and Kelsey 1 and 2.

Our Approach to Lettings

We want to see our premises well used  for the benefit of the community in Horley. We envisage that this will be through our usual busy Church programme, church sponsored events and a wide range of suitable community activities. We believe the Church should be at the centre of our local community.

Our approach to any application for the use of our premises will be a positive one. We want to encourage appropriate organisations to use the premises for their meetings and activities - wherever these are complementary to the Church’s regular activities. As you would expect, we will not be able to accept bookings for activities which are in conflict with the Christian message, our vision statement and values,  or such as might prevent our regular activities from functioning to the full.

Regretfully, we will  not normally be able to accommodate bookings for a Sunday event, or on major Christian Festivals such as Easter and Christmas.

We are ever mindful of our neighbours' well being and therefore, out of consideration for those who live around our building, we ask that all bookings fully vacate the premises by 22.30.

Horley Baptist Church is an independent organisation that relies on member donations to function as a Christian Church. The income it receives from lettings are used to meet the cost of and enhance the community facilities. It does not seek to make a surplus from this income.

We operate two room hire rates:

  • The STANDARD RATE has been set at a competitive level and is expected to be applicable to most lettings. In addition, discounts are offered for multiple bookings.
  • The COMMUNITY RATE is designed for those local organisations that are focused on the needs of the immediate area and rely on fundraising and donations as their income source. If you wish to pay this rate, you may be asked to supply information to support why this rate is applicable.

Please refer to the Room Descriptions and Rooms and full Terms and Conditions when considering whether our facilities will be suitable for your needs.
